This solution, developed in collaboration with FalconStor Software, an IBM Business Partner, offers a powerful and efficient way for enterprises to protect their critical IBM i, AIX, and Linux on Power workloads and save up to 60% on long-term backup and archive storage costs, even after paying for the joint solution.
FalconStor StorSafe for Google Cloud is the simplest way to deploy a modern backup optimization solution with Google Cloud, with customers receiving unified billing within the broad ecosystem of services in Google Cloud. Once subscribed to the Google Marketplace product, users gain access to licensing and deployment models for Google Cloud that allow them to deploy the infrastructure needed to suit RTO, RPO, and cost requirements.
Key Highlights:
- Accelerate Infrastructure Modernization: StorSafe is compatible with all the leading backup offerings. Customers can quickly modernize existing IBM i, AIX, or Linux backup solutions without changing existing processes.
- Increased Data Reduction: Up to 95% data cutback using a Single Instance Repository (SIR) for block-level deduplication, removing redundant copies of data, reducing capacity requirements, and improving data portability in the cloud.
- Ransomware Protection: WORM (Write Once, Read Many) capability allows non-rewritable and non-erasable data to be written, providing extra data security by prohibiting accidental or unplanned data erasure. Once written, data cannot be altered, even by an administrator.
- Cost Optimized Cloud Storage: Using Google Cloud Storage as the StorSafe deduplication data repository to reduce storage costs, users can copy or move data to Google Cloud Storage for cost optimized, long term storage.
- Simplified Cloud Migration: Importing physical tape libraries and migrating data to Google Cloud provides an inexpensive solution for preserving data and renewing backups in Google Cloud – where no physical tape libraries or drives are required.
- Google Cloud Billing Integration: All billing is handled by Google Cloud to simplify your cloud FinOps practice.
- Multi-Region Replication: Deploy multiple StorSafe appliances to replicate data between Google Cloud regions for disaster recovery.
