Accelerate VMware Cloud Migration With Amazon EVS
Earlier this week, AWS announced the public preview of its Amazon Elastic VMware Service (Amazon EVS), bringing the company closer to having its own fully operational, first-party VMware service. For businesses evaluating a move to the public cloud, a common theme I hear is that they need to go fast and do it with the least amount of risk and disruption. For organizations currently running on VMware, Amazon EVS will meet both of those requirements.
We previously wrote about Amazon EVS after it was first announced at AWS re:Invent. The Amazon EVS service is designed to provide an additional on-ramp to the public cloud, allowing customers to build upon their existing investments in VMware skillsets, tools, and operational processes. Once migrated to Amazon EVS, customers have the added benefit of leveraging AWS native services alongside EVS, creating seamless opportunities for innovation and a clear pathway to modernization.
